Why have birthday cakes for dogs become popular?

The dog lifestyle market is booming with more and more owners treating their four-legged friends to birthdays, cakes, silly costumes, fancy collars. This has been a new trend in recent years with many people treating there pup like another human.

After all, what discerning pooch wouldn’t want to spend some time with their doggy pals receiving gifts, tucking into liver cupcakes and popping the “pawsecco” and as everyone knows the highlight of any birthday party is the cake.

Doggy birthday cakes are not the same as human cakes they don’t contain lots of fat and sugar, in fact, most are baked using natural ingredients dog’s love such as peanut butter, carrots or carob (the dog-safe alternative to chocolate) Topped with either yoghurt or fondant icing many are decorated with biscuit bones or treats and some can even be personalised with your four-legged friends name and date of birth.
